Our quizzes

At the beginning of the second year of study I suggested to a group of 8-10 year children to make LOGO quizzes on different themes. Every child chose the theme himself. Speaking honestly, I did not expect such enthusiasm from the children.

Quiz themes turned out to be very diverse - from animals and literature to electronics and magic. Children came to lessons with encycloedias, brought home-typed texts. Many recorded the sound for their quizzes using the LOGO library. Some worked only in class, and some typed texts at home in Word and drew pictures in Paint, and then we imported these into LOGO.

I consider that the LOGO environment is ideal for the creation of such projects, especially for junior school children. Quiz creation does not require sophisticated programming, but at the same time it is an interesting and creative task for a child.

During this process they acquire the skills of working with different programs.

As a summary we conducted a game using quizzes - The cleverest parent. Everybody loved it, everybody won a prize.
